Some friends had fun lampooning "My husband's not gay" on TLC, which showcases gays in Salt Lake who are married to women. What if straight men tried the same in a gay world?

A TLC special, "My husband's not gay", which explores unconventional marriages between male Mormons who are attracted to men but also claim to be happily married to women, sparked outrage since it was aired earlier this month.

LGBT media watch group GLAAD has called the show "downright irresponsible".

President and CEO Sarah Kate Ellis said: "No one can change who they love, and, more importantly, no one should have to. By investing in this dangerous programming, TLC is putting countless young LGBT people in harm’s way".

On Friday, actor-turned-activist George Takei, released a faux trailer of a new reality TV series "My husband’s not straight', which features three gay male couples, lampooning the original. In it, the host Takei says: "We'll follow three same-sex married couples with at twist. One of the spouses in each is a hetero".

The social media maven wrote on facebook: "Some friends had fun lampooning “My husband’s not gay” on TLC, which showcases gays in Salt Lake who are married to women. What if straight men tried the same in a gay world, hmmm?".
