Have you ever wondered - what the perfect ultrabook would look like? Inevitably, it’ll incorporate a monstrous computing power and a contemporary jaw-dropping design. Computer market has been flooded with a bevy of ultrabooks vying for a top-tier place and today we’re going to go over Apple’s newest iteration - the Macbook.

Every component of the new MacBook has been meticulously redesigned to create a Mac that weighs just two pounds and is 13.1 mm thin. The new MacBook features a stunning 12 - inch Retina display that is the thinnest ever on a Mac, an Apple - designed full-size keyboard which is considerably thinner and highly responsive, a force touch trackpad that brings a whole new, a compact USB-C port for data transfer, video out and charging in a single connector, and a new battery design that utilizes every millimeter of space to deliver all - day battery life. And, for the first time, MacBook is available in three fetching aluminum finishes - gold, silver and space gray.

Inside the new Macbook is an Intel Core-M processor, its clock speed is significantly lower than the Macbook Air, but that shouldn’t be that of a bigger deal for the most people. It can handle most of your day-to-day routine tasks, like surfing the web, checking emails or the occasional work project.

That being said, the new MacBook isn't meant to be a horsepower, so, if you want to do photo or video editing, on programs like the Final Cut Pro, you’d better adhere to the Macbook Pro or even the iMac lines.

"A trackpad, pushed even further with force touch."
One of the big stories is the before mentioned force touch trackpad, which is an entirely new concept that differs from the conventional track-pads, which traditionally are moving and clicking. Instead, underneath the glass surface of the trackpad, Apple has implemented a vibration motor akin to the one in your mobile phone. Basically, this is a pressure - sensitive surface and when you press a bit harder on it, it creates the illusion of an actual click. Furthermore, there’s this "force click" feature which enables you to sneak a peek on a webpage, to see a dictionary definition of a word and a couple of other nifty tricks. When watching a video, you can also use it to fast forward through a video in QuickTime- the harder you press, the fastest it plays.

The bottom line:

The Macbook is a stellar device for those seeking for portability and futuristic design. So if you’re a student or simply someone who enjoys browsing the web, go for it. However, I can tell you right off the hat if you’re a professional or a gaming enthusiast that this isn’t the vital powerhouse you need.
