Hearts were melting in New York City as the Red Hot exhibit kicks off stateside.

Thomas Knights, photographer and creator of the Red Hot campaign, has confessed he "despised" his own ginger hair growing up, and many of the red head models he's photographed for this series share a similar story of being made fun of for their red locks. "Guys with red hair don't have the positive role models that girls do in our culture", Knights said, saying Hollywood hasn’t helped with the poor media portrayal of men with red hair.

"A male with red hair is not seen as aspirational, culturally speaking, with very few leading men, heroes, action stars or heartthrobs played by men with red hair in Hollywood or on our TV screens", said Knights.

Thomas Knights photos premiere was 3rd of September at the BOSI Gallery on the Lower East Side (48 Orchard Street) where guests had the chance to meet some of the models, score some exclusive Red Hot shirts and contribute to some of the anti-bullying charities the campaign is raising awareness of. The free exhibition continues daily until 14 September.

Until you make it to the exhibit, enjoy some sneak peaks of the ginger gods that make up the Red Hot campaign.
