Dan Slater is an upcoming Australian DJ based in Sydney. After years in the club scene as one of the most in demand dancer and producer, Dan’s love of music eventually lured him onto the decks. A respectable web magazine, GayTimes.co.uk made an interresting interview with lovely Aussie DJ Dan Slater.

What's the best gig you've done so far?

I was lucky enough to spin at the 2012 Mardi Gras in Sydney - It was one of the first gigs in my DJing career and very memorable. There have been some other stand outs since, such as solo support for Sneaky Sound System.

You’re currently working on your own original material. Can you give us any hints on what to expect?

I'm currently collaborating with a few vocalists and our tracks will feature powerful vocals, strong percussion and rhythmical beats. It's all still in the incubation and development stage but I can't wait to get into the studio and get things cooking again.

If you weren’t a DJ what else would you be doing?

I'd like to be working in a creative role within the entertainment or television industry – but I’m sure music would be involved somewhere.

Let's zoom forward to the year 2017. Ideally, what would you be doing?

Ideally my goals are to be recognized internationally for my work as a DJ and producer, spinning at different events around the world, and collaborating with international recording artists.

Tell us where you're going to be around Europe. How do you feel about playing all these cool parties?

Throughout July and August I will be spinning Milan, Frankfurt, London, Mykonos and Copenhagen. As this is my first European tour I'm a little nervous, but very excited to bring some Aussie flavour to Europe’s dancefloors.

What's the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?

My parents told me from a young age to treat others the way I would like to be treated.

We won't lie - you're hot! Romantically speaking, how does someone impress Dan Slater?

I go weak for a killer smile. But if you're genuine, and don't take yourself too seriously that will impress me.

What’s your favourite thing to do when you have time to chill?

Love spending time at the beach with friends, and I really enjoy cooking too. I have to say I'm a huge Miranda fan... Such fun!

What tune never fails to get you personally on the dance floor?

Pump Up The Jam or Push It. Classics!

Could you give us your top 3 floor fillers right now and why?

Davi Din Da (Ibiza 2013 Mix) - Dario Nunez, Victor Perez, Vicente Ferrer; Never Let The Party Stop (Club Mix) - Ivan Gomez & Micky Friedmann; Werk It feat. Roz Brown (Xavi Alfaro Remix) - Kobretti, Stricted Soul. Great tracks that all feature on my latest mix exclusively for GT.
